About
ABOUT MnD
In 2009, our founder Kristoff Baeten was consulting for several clients in the life sciences such as Genzyme, J&J Group, VIB and Biocartis. He created content as well as provided corporate and marketing communication services for other life science companies. At some point he realized that he needed the support of scientists to ensure a good understanding of his clients’ work, so that he could communicate their stories with accuracy.
And so Monkeys not Donkeys was born.
The name “Monkeys not Donkeys” came from the idea that monkeys are clever, creative and collaborative, while donkeys are also thought to be smart, yet stubborn.
Kristoff hired his first two team members in 2018 – a native English speaker with a PhD in molecular biology and great writing skills, and a biologist with a background in data science and design.
In 2021 MnD grew nearly 4-fold and Kristoff saw the benefits for MnD and its clients of being part of a larger entity who could finance our growth as well as bring in additional administrative support. So in April 2022, MnD officially joined the QbD Group.
